Where The Shop Social Lounge 1200 McKee Street, McKees Rocks, PA 15136 What Youll Learn Rope Fundamentals I introduces the safety practices and core techniques that support a responsible rope practice. Consent and communication: Establish enthusiastic consent and clear expectations before tying. Rope and safety equipment: Learn about common rope materials and the importance of keeping appropriate cutting tools within reach. Nerve safety: Review common pressure points, warning signs, and basic sensory and motor checks. Foundational techniques: Practice the Larks head, half hitches, single-column ties, and double-column ties. Building with rope: Explore rope extension and introductory harness structures. This session is designed for beginners and anyone who wants to strengthen their fundamentals. Coming Solo? Youre Welcome Here. You do not need to arrive with a practice partner. Color-coded wristbands will make it easier to meet people interested in practicing together. Black: Tops Purple: Bottoms Orange: Switches Wristbands communicate your preference for this session and your interest in meeting others. They are conversation starters, not automatic consent to tie or be tied. Getting Here Enter the fenced lot behind the building. Limited parking is available inside the lot. Use the white door beneath the white awning on the left side of the building, near the outdoor couches. What to Expect Sober space: All Rope Bite events are completely sober. Inclusive environment: All identities and experience levels are welcome. Respect and empathy are expected from everyone.
