At 10:00 pm, Oasis Aqualounge is excited to screen a film called 'Ropeburn' by Sara Sabbagh. Visit the Oasis Ballroom for a special viewing of this independent short documentary that explores the relationship between female sexuality and aging, behind the backdrop of BDSM and fetish culture.
Sara Sabbagh is an award-winning director, cinematographer, production designer, and animator. Her work has been screened at numerous international film festivals including the Goa Short Film Festival, the Pan Eros Film Festival, the Brussels Porn Film Festival, the Brighton Film Festival and the Ozark Film Festival. She is a winner of the IPA Video Award and the Eddie Yolles Film Award / Scholarship. As a freelancer, she has worked with established brands such as Porsche, Mini Cooper, Mehar and Epic Story Media. Her animation work has appeared in Exclaim! Magazine. Some notable collaborators include the Canadian Screen Award winning producer Rebecca Ortiz, as well as musicians Sarah Carmosino (CTV’s The Launch) and Aphrose. Recently, Sara received a sizable grant from Canada Council for the Arts and the Ontario Arts Council to direct, animate and design “Beheld,” a mixed-media animated short film featuring stop-motion puppets and sets she created from scratch.
Sunday through Thursday we welcome solo men, solo women, and couples. Fridays and Saturdays are reserved for solo women and couples only.
