I would like to request an update to the blocking feature on the website. To illustrate how this update should work let us say USER_COUPLE chooses to explicitly block USER_SINGLE. By explicit blocking, I mean choosing the "Block" option from USER_SINGLE's profile, not the preference to block messages from singles or couples in the preferences section of the website.

Following should happen to USER_COUPLE - 1) Loses access to all galleries (public, private and personal) of USER_SINGLE. If USER_COUPLE later unblocks USER_SINGLE, then they will have to re-request access to private and personal galleries. 2) Loses any cert(s) received by USER_SINGLE. This cannot be regained even after unblocking USER_SINGLE 3) Cannot see any cert(s) for USER_SINGLE. 4) Loses the ability to review message history with USER_SINGLE

Following should happen to USER_SINGLE - 1) Loses access to all content of USER_COUPLE, pretty much how it works now. 2) Is able to block USER_COUPLE as well.

In the current setup of this feature USER_SINGLE tends to lose the ability to revoke access to his/her/their galleries when USER_COUPLE chooses to block them. A lot of users tend to block another user from contacting them after the first email even though nothing rude was exchanged just because they don't want to get hounded. Most of the time, the user placing the block also tends to request access to the galleries of the user being blocked. After being blocked, the latter does not have the ability to revoke access.

Additionally, such a feature should be applied retroactively so that all users who are representative of USER_COUPLE lose access to the pictures, message histories and certs of the users they are blocking.

The idea I have suggested above promotes content equality while still affording USER_COUPLE the ability to not receive unwanted emails. At the same time USER_SINGLE is assured than their pictures/content are not being viewed by someone who has expressed no interest in communicating with them.

And for the record, this is not something that plagues single men alone, couples experience quite a bit of this as well.
