I saw the "New SLS Chat Room Beta" link when I logged in so figured I'd give it a try. I connected and it was mostly a bunch of random "Happy New Year" messages scrolling by. In the upper right there appeared to be a Rooms link, but nothing happened when I clicked on it.
Maybe it's just me, but this seems like a complete waste of bandwidth. There was no way to have any sort of conversation with anyone. The people that were entering in chats were from all over the US, so it seems unlikely you could actually meet someone from chat. Unlike the Forum where you can have topic titles and repsonses that are (mostly) related to them, this Chat stuff just comes across as drivel. Am I missing something? I'm assuming people can make and go to different Chat rooms, but as far as I could tell, this was broken in Beta. Anyway, just wondering how many from the forums use chat rooms, and what they get out of it. Is this meant to be a LS pen pals kind of thing or is there more to it?
