I think you really need a technology rearchitecture if this is at the bottom of the page:
"Please note: Items on this calendar may take up to 5 minutes to appear." Ask yourself if you'd be okay with your personal calendar taking 5 min to display items. I doubt you would be. That's just plain ridiculous.
