As our own years accumulate, we have friends in our vanilla and our LS lives whose lives end. It's an actuarial fact that such events-the deaths of others in our age cohort--will increase in frequency until our own time comes. Perhaps paradoxically, we find learning of these events less frightening today than we did even a few years ago; instead, we remind ourselves that life is finite, our time briefer today than it was yesterday, etc, and that today is a great time to renew friendships in and out of the LS. More simply, we find those passings of others illuminate the importance of our living today to its fullest.
We are curious. How do other senior swingers respond to the deaths of friends in vanilla life and in the LS? Do you spend much time mourning their death, or more time celebrating their lives--and yours?
