"Sin City"... horrible movie with one amazing monologue. "Real power doesn't cone from a badge or a gun, it comes from lying. Once you have millions of people agreeing with something they know in their heart is a lie, you have them by the balls."
If that doesn't perfectly describe 21st century politics, I don't know what does. Evrery acrivist group, every political group, has a false narrative they are spinning, and everyone is going along because they don't want the other side's false narritive to win. I try to use data to cut through the bullshit, and EVERYONE spends all their time telling me to shut up. They know that what they claim to be their beliefs are pure bullshit, and the last thing they want is someone more concerned with truth than politics. No attempt to use data to prove me wrong... becaue they know they can't. They know that what I am saying is true, and they hate the truth.
