California is burning. 75% of the state is covered in smoke from the fires. this means that people are breathing in smoke every day for weeks. According to the science from the American Cancer Society and University PHDs this amount of particulates in the lungs should be killing people. The science that all of our air pollution regulations are based on says that many thousands of people in California should be dead by now. All the people who have asthma should be dead and those with allergies should be dying. The diesel regulations are based on much less particulates into the lungs causing cancer and death. Why are people in California not dying from the smoke?
