So much fun to watch Trump take on the whole G-7. First, he points out that we have been screwed for years by uneven tariffs which has resulted in Billions of dollars lost to others for 70 years. I don't know what that accumulates to in to-date totals, but it must be an amazingly large number - certainly in the $Trillions. Trump rightfully blames previous administrations, not members of the G-7 for this ridiculous situation. Then he raises US tariffs of mostly steel and aluminum, and gets their attention. (at the same time, incentivizing US industry to increase capacity to take up the slack) Then he tells the assembled G-7 group we now insist on FREE trade, and that their free ride is over. He knows he's shaking the shit out of a large number of industries, in large numbers of countries, but I'll bet, before he's done, our trade balances will substantially improve, and Americans will pay less for more. An amount, over years that will be in the $trillions. That's for us, guys! And it is fair, and it makes sense. This guy never stops!
