TOPIC: Best public place for a first meeting?

I didn’t want to hijack a similar thread in this forum, so I’ve decided to ask his as a separate question: what places do you prefer for a first public meeting?
I love hotels. But not just any hotel. I love hotels with a large pool area. People our age tend to have afternoons, or happy hour midweek available. I find that midday meetings for coffee or a beer are perfect. We can meet in the lobby, or hotel bar, and then take the conversation out to the pool area. Midday, there is usually nobody else out there so we can talk more freely than we would be able to at the local Starbucks. (Hmmm. We just moved to KY from Fla. Not sure how this strategy will work in the dead of winter) Mr.H
