Last week, the obnoxious SM bombardment got overwhelming. Like 50 or so in a matter of days, with perhaps one or two at best with enough class and brains to sound of potential interest. We cannot get out to play anyway for the next few weeks, so we just blocked all SMs temporarily.
I have seen various posts in the forums by single males complaining that couples could look at their profiles, but if the couple had SMs blocked, they could not look back and felt it unfair. Apparently SLS actually listened to those member's requests, as now with SMs blocked, we cannot look at SM profiles like could be done in the past.
That is fine and seems "fair" I suppose. It does however eliminate the chance of us picking out any potential new friends that might catch our attention we would like to meet sometime. Why would we look if we are not wanting them now you may ask? A SM who made a wise comment in the forums, maybe certed a friend or certed someone new who reached out to us, maybe signed up for a party, etc. There are many profiles here that may be of interest (SMs or CPLs) that we often tag for future follow-up, but with no immediate contact today. Not a real hindrance for couples, but it even further makes the good SMs here hard to get found, simply due to the vast numbers of the "bad eggs" that seem to clutter this site, and the ones who whine about the "unfairness". I don't think this change however was advantageous to the SM cause.
