When we first started, it would have been a big deal for the Mrs to just flash her breasts. We were nervous as hell going to our first lifestyle (LS) party and some amount of that nervous excitement lasted for about the first 2 years or so of attending LS parties. The Mrs felt funny kissing other guys when we started and we had an "always play together/same room" rule when we did start full swapping after about a year or so in the LS.
Now, we are at a point where going to a LS party is no big deal (pre Covid of course). While we know that we're very likely to have fun, there is zero nervousness. We joke with each other while getting readdy for a party about how it's time to get ready to go fuck people. We have attended and participated in gang bangs and had as many as 11 people on/around a bed, all actively having sex at the same time. We no longer limit ourselves to same room play, but have not (and may never) progress to having completely separate dates. While the sex is still a lot of fun, we now find it easier to kick back and talk to people. While we're generally always up for play time, we feel less of a rush to get there. With more experienced people we can just let them know that we're up for and ready to play if/when they are, and with newbies we tell them what the answer would be if they asked, but leave it up to them to determine if/when they're ready to play. Our goal when we started was to maybe have 3 or 4 couples we could get together with as a group to play. Before the virus, we've had as many as 60+ friends over at our own house parties. It has been a blast so far, and we almost miss that nervous excitement. The more you do, the more it tends to desentize you a bit. I can't help but wonder if one reaches a point where they've done it all and no longer get enjoyment out of all of this. We hope the hell that never happens ;-) So, how has your journey been and what goals do you have in the LS?
