A professional colleague who is (a) a senior citizen right around our ages and (b) deals with patients with new, bad diagnoses recently articulated her approach to the balance of her life, "Carpe (the fucking) diem!" She notes that in her 30's, it was a rare and notable event when someone she knew succumbed to cancer or a brain bleed or whatever; now in her late 60's, it happens every month. She has determined to make the best of each day.
What are the things that you and your partner do such that you seize each day and wring the best out of it?
