TOPIC: COVID and the Impact of Working Out

Original Starting post for this thread:
So I have the COVID shots and the boosters. I traveled to Maine at the end of August for a vanilla event and also met a couple form SLS. It was an awesome time until the plane ride home. I suspect that plane ride home is why several days later I came down with COVID (probably the guy on the return flight sitting in front me who was coughing and sneezing).

It is now the beginning of November and I am finally back in the gym. I will admit that COVID kicked my ass, first with obvious physical upper respiratory discomfort that lasted several weeks. I thought once I was better I would pick right back up with my workout routine, but that wasn't the case, my body was spent, tired and I just lacked the energy to get back in the gym.

When I started back this week, my focus was on cardio and building back my stamina. I focused in intervals of power walking and running working up to 3 miles a day. It hasn't been an easy week, but I am thankful for the consistency of working out everyday thsi week and I am at a place I had set as a target for the first weekt.

Next week I will be re-introducing free weights, knowing I have to scale back the weight and increase gradually.

I mention this because I don't know if others have had the struggle and the need to push ones self back to the gym and back into the workout routine,

I know I am way off where I was but my path back is mapped out and each milestone will bring me back to the point I was before COVID knocked my ass for a loop,
