Kind of an odd topic, but I've had a bunion on my left foot for quite some time. I always thought the only real way to correct it was with surgery. My wife knows people that have gone through that surgery and said it was very painful. Since my bunion wasn't otherwise causing any issues I figured I'd just live with it.
I was actually checking the weather and the weather site had an ad for bunion correctors. I had never heard of them before so looked into it. There are a number of them on the market and they appear to work in roughly the same way braces straighten teeth. I bought a pair of them for under $10 and there is nothing that makes these ones left or right footed, so I actually have a spare. I'm reading that they take 3-5 months to start seeing a difference. Makes sense when you consider how long it takes braces to work for teeth. After wearing one for a day, I barely even notice it. Anyway, in the event anyone else has bunions and thought surgery was the only option, it might be something to look into.
