The problem is here in SC there are still some very backwards laws that blur the line between operating a swing club or event and a brothel. They are not enforced as much these days with most folks knowing but turning a blind eye but back in the 90's some folks were even arrested. It pretty much caused everyone to go "underground" and the whole "Rule 1 you don't talk about the swing club or party." and "Rule two you don't talk about the swing club or party." became a mantra. Still today that has set us decades behind other states. Just recently they tried to get a permit to open a swing club up in Myrtle Beach doing everything legal and in the open. It was not granted yet just a few miles from the location there are hotels that get taken over (quietly but everyone "knows") with a monthly party or at least were before the virus closed everything.

I moved from Rhode Island recently and in comparison, the scene down here is dead. There are places to go such as clubs and hotel takeovers but i prefer house parties. Those are not as common as they are up north.

We are moving up from Florida in a few weeks and have been taking long weekends in the area for a while now just to get a feel for the area. We have found several social groups that host events once a month. Mostly in the Charlotte area, Anderson SC, or Atlanta GA. We dont mind the travel for a good party, and spending the weekend in a hotel possibly with others is an added bonus.

We may possibly be moving down to Columbia. Wanted to get an idea of how active the swinging scene is the area and in SC in general. Been doing some reading via the forums and it looks like its a bit quiet in that region.
