We had heard Carolina Foothills was closed. If it is indeed still open that makes a grand total of two such places in SOUTH CAROLINA. Neither are an actual nude beach but are private resorts. SC has some rather specific laws about being nude in the view of the public even on your own property. Cross over the border and you find a few more. The OP asked about South Carolina and let's not forget a recent news story about police in Myrtle Beach almost arresting a woman for wearing a thong on the beach. Once again aside from Ceder Creek near Columbia and Carolina Foothills (if they are still open) there is nowhere outside of private property (even then there are laws about being visible from a public road or sidewalk and one assumes by default public waterway such as a beach) it is legal to be topless much less nude in SC. Wearing a thong with a top in public is not legal in some locations based on local laws. I know places on local rivers where police will set up and ticket women floating down river topless (mainly holiday weekends). The fact is South Carolina is a lot more restrictive regarding nudity and other adult activities. Hell there is still a county where a woman takes and sends her husband a nude selfie she has broken the "production and dissemination of porn" laws.

That’s a load of nonsense. There’s Whispering Pines near the beach and Carolina Foothills in Chesnee and several resorts just a short distance across the Ga Line. There’s the Valley in Dawsonville Ga and another near Commerce I forget the name of. All are full functioning Nudist resorts/clubs with pools and recreational facilities.

Have camped and frolicked au naturel on the beach at Capers Island with groups of friends.

Here is the thing South Carolina is a tourist state and it runs the coast as a family oriented area, even though Myrtle beach has turned into Murder beach. To many rich people from out of state come to our coast and don't want to see cornbread feed nudies in their beach views. So the only two places are here in the Columbia area. Cedar Creek in Pelion and another smaller private place in Horrel Hill/ Eastover. It didn't help that one of the original owners was caught with child porn, they are no longer involved with the resort. there are a few islands on lake Murray that people sunbath on but thats a hit and a miss, mainly up around the head where little housing is. Around here GA has the most resorts for getting naked.

There are zero public spots you can legally get nude, topless, or even wear a thong in SC. There are some places the law might not be strictly enforced but you do so at your own risk. I know of only one "resort" near Columbia, SC it is called Cedar Creek. Everything else I have heard of is either in NC or Georgia. That said on private property out of the view of a road you are legally okay but it is likely someone might call the police on you if they see you. Of course depending on the event and club some swingers clubs have clothing optional events especially ones with pool parties during the summer. Sadly South Carolina is not very open minded about nudity among other things but keep in mind we are also in the Bible Belt with quite a few archaic laws still on the books and prudes everywhere.

1 would love to know as well. Moved here from CT where we had two nudist resorts and were a two hour drive to Gunnison in NJ. Now we drive 5 hours to get to Paradise Valley in GA.
