Ruger Makes a single action pistol that actually takes the rimless .45 auto round . One of the Dealers I buy though had one in, and brought such to my attention in seeking out a second cylinder. www DOT budsgunshop dot com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/70176?sort=date I don't claim to know all about All firearms, But I do know what I speak of when I open my mouth or decide to write about it. Just as Ruger also Made a Second .9mm cylinder for their .357/.38 special blackhawks, I had the second cylinder made for an Old Flat top I owned MANY years ago, by Ruger. It was something they did relatively inexpensively . My Vaquero cannot Be done by them due to an agreement to the gun's manufacturer, and the distributor ( it was made for Ruger by Uberti I believe) Neither will do any customization to the firearm because of it . they will however Make me a new .45 Long colt cylinder if I wanted .....

I wish My Vaquero Would take the .45 auto rounds in a Separate Cylinder, The .45 long colt get's expensive to shoot, even with Reloads........ Beautiful firearm, But a whore to feed..... Especially since it was commissioned for Ruger , they offer no Options to alter it , and I have yet to find a gunsmith willing to manufacture a cylinder to fit the firearm.

The Big problem soon to be seen in such cold climates will be the Road way Damage , as the frost Eases away , many paved surfaces will become quite unstable , thus you may be seeing plenty of potholes popping up in places never seen or heard of .

Most of the Freeze ups, assuming it is from a municipal source end up freezing Great areas. More often even if a Welder is used to thaw the line it ends up being a temporary fix. as the surrounding areas are still cold enough to re freeze in a few hours. Typically the Frost is driven Deep in areas with little or no snow coverage , compounded with vehicle Traffic driving it Deeper with each passing tire , The frost has been found as deep as 8-10 feet in such areas. People near me who are freezing are more frequently happening between the Main line and the Curb Box shutoff. The reason for this is the use of a Top tap to make the connection, and the pipe actually coming off the tap and rising up to 12" before returning to the 48" mark ( you aren't allowed to use fittings Like elbows on a main installation) The top tap is a cheaper install as one isn't required to Dig as large a hole to use a top tap. Many municipalities near me are Basically Telling people that they will have to just wait it out

Regarding Thawing The Ground 4' deep...... Good luck on that , Not too be mean but it will thaw Naturally by the time you spend the $$$ on the fuel or electric to do it. I know several people who are dealing with the same issue, Other than digging it up there is not much that will help, the ground is like a solid mass of ice at this point

PG- The Canadian connection is how we got out of a bad horse deal We were snookered into . We were novices with them at the time , and the Owner assured she would work with us in teaching us how to care for the horses as well as riding lessons etc, So long as we housed them on her property. After about a month the riding lessons ended because she would do trail rides with her friends before we got there so the animals were not able to ride for us . We ended up simply caring for and paying for her to use Our horses . We couldn't afford to move them at the time and when we asked about them buying them back she refused . We ended up stopping at a Livestock auction in New Berlin NY and brought back the cards to 4 buyers who were offering us Live weight on the ponies for sale to Canada. We had to offer her in writing the first offer. She came across with the money for them a week later. Lesson learned

Went to jack a partially collapsed Deck this morning , that had been previously ok'd By a client and their insurance company. Well today as I was finishing tying in my gussets I received a call from the adjuster telling me to Stop what I was doing , that he had to inspect...... After a brief conversation , ( he wanted me to lower the Deck again ) he relented to accept my pictures . This guy was serious when he said he wanted me to lower a collapsed deck.... Nah , I can pop a single action for @ 3200. I have almost 4k into an AR, but I drive tacks at @ 400 yds, and I use that to play cards with friends by plunking a card stapled to a board in the distance. Nothing Says relaxation like driving a piece of led into 12" X 12" target you can barely make out with the naked eye. I don't question why people find the need to golf, I mean if one wants to ask about a harmful sport, have you ever thought about the amount of water is needed to maintain a gold course let alone the chemicals leaching into the ground water around them?

I am wondering if I may be getting soft in my elder years...... some Douche Canoe is asking about buying a Dog Tag Stamp kit from WW 1, and indicated that he wanted to stamp tools etc with them. So I was compelled to warn him against buying the damn thing.... Since it was not made of tempered steel and was Designed to stamp thin aluminum...... solely because I hated the idea of him ruining a 100 year old item foolishly, I feel my younger self my have Laughed about the thought of somebody spending so much on an item just to ruin it's value.....

There are Many in NY vowing not to register , I haven't decided Yet what I will do. I am leaning towards registering for a few reasons, from the size of my collection, and traveling between Pa. and NY. it isn't worth the risk losing something through confiscation if I happen to Break down , and an officer approaches offering assistance, and I am found to be in possession of a Weapon thus banned due to this law. Because of my former profession I have the ability to maintain certain items, although I am not keen on the restrictions placed with it. ultimately, I have a get out of dodge Card with my property in Pa, as I have already secured a residence there, and My firearms can be relocated out of state within 20 minutes Legally.

In NY there are plenty things horribly wrong with the SAFE-act, But Failing to register , and retaining the Weapons may be foolish , especially if one chooses to shoot such weapons. 1- If a person doesn't Register the weapons required under the Law, the state is still going to be able to track many weapons, through ammunitions purchases , The NYSP is eventually going to be able to track purchases, and when you read the Law it indicates That they (NYSP) will be able to "inspect" ( note the wording ) storage of large quantities of purchased ammunition. 2- Each weapon and or Large capacity magazine not registered could result in a Class D felony charge for EACH item in possession. 3- There are little Caveats in the law such as each Pistol permit holder shall have their permits Re-issued every 5 years. ( previously they were Lifetime unless revoked ) 4- If one Loses their Pistol permit for ANY reason, they shall surrender EVERY firearm and all ammunition. Outside of NYC , there is no Permits needed for items such as shotguns and or rifles, yet this new law says that ALL weapons would have to be surrendered. 5- Registered Items ( assault Weapons) are not allowed to be transferred to any other person, including Family, Upon death. It's a pretty fucked up law.

A local Dealer Located a Glock 33 in .357 sig with the .40 cal barrel. They were asking 500.00 , but gave me 10% professional discount. There wasn't a box of ammunition through the .357 sig barrel, and the .40 barrel is still new in a sealed package. I'm excited to get it on my permit tomorrow , hopefully the judge is in to sign off on it So I can play with it this weekend.

I don't think it is due to the weather as much as it may be the concentration of people , and restricted Travel. I have had friends go down earlier in the week, and all have said it was a PIA, and that was prior to closing off Traffic. Hopefully things improve, But I'm thinking it wont .

Any thoughts on .357 Sig ? I'm looking at the Sig Sauer, But have been getting prodded to purchase the Glock because of the ability to obtain a.40 cal second barrel. Any opinions? I'm not a Huge Fan of The Glock Brand (I have a 17) not keen on how that shoots, have had great experiences when I carried the Sig 226.

I only use Kosher salt it Seems to be easier to cook with the larger grains ,it tends to break down quicker than table salt, but not as fast as pickling salt .;

Recieved a letter Fromour Pa electric company today, they were inquiring about our usage, lack of that is.; Seems they sent out a supervising reader because we are using under thier normal minimum. So I had to explain why our usage is down, and that it will be like that through the winter while I am remodeling.; It seems they also saw the Bypass wire the previous Owners tenant had attempted to sneak into the meter pan to bypass for his potential Grow house .; After our conversation today , I now have to go to the sheriffs Dept on Thursday and explain to them, since the electric company notified the local authorities of potential theft of services.; My question to the electric company was why hadn't they noticed this over the past 2+ years the house sat Vacant under the previous homeowners, since they had the power on the whole time as well, and thier usage was less than ours....; The bright spot of it all is they aren't going to make me change the meter pan right away, since we spoke to them back in October about increasing the service next fall after all the interior work is completed.;
