What is there to do in Vegas? Never heard anyone ask that before? There is more to do in this city than anywhere else in the world, and the great part is that it's constantly changing. If you like sometime outside there are many beautiful areas to visit like, Red Rocks, Valley of Fire, Lake mead, and of course Hoover Dam. You could spend days wandering around the resorts without spending a dime in the slot machines. They've spend Billions of dollars creating some truly amazing hotels with unsurpassed beauty. If you like fine dining you could be here for months without returning to the same fine dining restaurant. If you want to spend a little less there are many amazing restaurants. More shrimp are consumed in Vegas every single day than every other city in the country in a year! If you like shows the variety and quality of shows is unsurpassed. The pools here are beyond anything else anywhere in the world. There are way too many to count. You'll find everything from wild night club pool parties to calm and beautiful. One couple on this tread is staying to the Golden Nugget. There is a fish tank in the middle of the pool that has 10 foot tiger sharks as well as many other large fish. The water slide goes right though the middle of the tank. There are may special events every week, wine tastings, music concerts, and just about anything else you can imagine. As for hotels spend some time looking around. There are so many to choose from one to fit every fantasy. You might have to spend a little more, but you get a lot for what you pay for here. You don't have to gamble to enjoy this city. It's a lot cheaper to stay here if you don't gamble even if pay for you room! Get out and live a little, Vegas is the land of extravagance. There are so many things that you can do here that you can do no where else in the world. Enjoy!

We are headed to Vegas mid Sept '13 for 3-5 nights,we dont gamble ( willing to try it once ) we will be driving one day/night into Arizona to suprise visit fmily members my husband hasnt seen in 30 years.... other then that what is there to do?? Was looking at ummm Harrah's??? ( Hubby looked I have not yet )

We've never stayed downtown although we always make it a point to spend a day and night on Fremont street. The only issue we would have spending six or seven days and nights there is it's a so far away from all the activities on the strip. For dinning and shows(not counting the free ones on fremont street)it's pretty limited.

The Golden Nugget is an excellent choice for downtown. Never been in the rooms at 4 Queens so don't really have an opinion. Downtown can be fun as you walk out of your hotel into the party. On weekends there are always several bands playing. There is a biker bar Hogs and Heifers that sometimes is fun. You can dance on the bar and take your top off! Unfortunately they are forced to put large stickers on your breasts when you do it but it can be fun. Then there is the Heart Attack Grill. Never eaten there never will but we have eaten across the street. They have a scales outside that will display your weight in huge numbers. You can eat free if you weigh over 350 pounds! Waitresses / nurses are hot! We fly back to Vegas sometimes as we travel a lot and stay in hotels. The Palms has very nice rooms very modern and beautiful. However, unless you have transportation and want to drive and park it can get a little old. It's nice but sometimes you want to see something different. Their are some great deals on rooms there sometimes that make it difficult to even consider another place. Of course, you won't have the benefit of cheap rooms for the Vegas Exchange. Definitely check out deals on Groupon and Living social sites. There are some excellent deals on rooms at like MGM signature which are very beautiful. If you are here during the warmer months the pool might be the deciding factor. A few of the hotels like Mandalay Bay and Mirage have topless pools. Others like the Flamingo have an amazing pool at a more moderate price. The pool at the Golden Nugget is very nice with a water slide that passes though a shark tank with very large sharks!

We went to vegas last august and we stayed three different places. we stayed first at the mgm(4 nights) then the stratosphere (1 night) then three nights at the 4 Queens. the 4 queens was by far the most fun and the cheapest. there was no cheap places to eat around the mgm. we are going to the vegas exchange this coming august which is at the palms but we are coming out there early and staying three night at the 4 queens. if you dont want to stay at the 4 queens the golden nugget is also there.

We go once a year and usually stay at the Flamingo. It's not the Bellagio but the rooms are good enough but we like it for the pool and for walking purposes it's right in the middle of the strip with great casinos and attractions right outside the door and just a mile or so in either direction to everything else that's a must see. Except for the Stratosphere but to us that's in no man's land up there. This past year the first week in November we got a Luxuary Go Room with a view for 580.00 which included the weekend. Outside of Hedo Vegas is our favorite vacation spot. Pick posted is from the 24th floor of the Flamingo.

There are lots of great deals on rooms in Vegas. The first decision you probably need to make is if you want to be downtown, the strip or off strip. It really depends on what you like to do and the experience you want. Many times you can find some great deals on Groupon and Living Social. If you search travel agencies like expedia be sure to check the resort web site there is a good chance find a better deal there. When you do decide on a hotel be sure to check out the Specials or Deals. Sometimes they offer drink and food packages for almost nothing when you stay at the hotel. The weather is usually very good in October so it's a good time to visit.

Never been to Vegas would like to go this October , can someone recommend a nice hotel that won't kill my bank account ?
