Desire RM just announced a MAJOR renovation. Sounds like they want to keep it fresh.

Desire Pearl is an incredible destination, that will get its vibe, over time, (or some weeks), when a large enough group "takes over". As some previous posters indicated; "the vibe is just not there, yet". Its going thru some growing pains, here and there. Be ready to pay quite a premium, for Pearl over RM. And the 2012 rack rate RM gardenview rooms start at about $2500/couple/7nites.

The Hot Tamale and Ynots groups are returning to Desire RM, in May 2013. Ask us anything.

We have been to Desire 3-4 times since it opened in 03. We decided to try Pearl....we were there 8 nights in July. There is NO comparing the 2 resorts. We went over to Desire twice for day/evening fun...we like to stay at nice places and Desire really isn't that any longer. There are SO many walled off beds on the beach, it looks like a prison. The way they stuff the loungers around the pool was very trashy and very very crowded, and very uncomfortable. Pearl is a dream. Luxe rooms, gorgeous grounds, spacious, and service beyond words. As the old saying goes you make your own party and we did....wink wink! The difference in these 2 places are night and day. Desire looks like to me they're getting on the same level as Hedo. We will always stay at Pearl from now on.

We like to be nude and to meet couples. We got an email on another site reporting a high occupancy weekend at Desire Pearl recently, occupancy coming from a group take over.

We may be worrying for nothing.

I guess it all depends on what you're looking for. But I am looking forward to going to pearl . Desire is nice however it is sort of small and a little dumpy at times. But we really are not into meeting people to play we are more into ourselves. The hubby is the nudist and I the wife is more unto wearing sexy clothes.

Keep the faith....we go with a group of friends the end of July every year, and we're already talking about possibly splitting next year's trip between the two resorts, and that's with the low energy we saw.....and, if trip reports improve, maybe just straight to Pearl.

Elsewhere we read a review of a couple that just got back. They gave everything from rooms, service, food, pool, beach, hot tub, and club high marks. Play room was a little small they reported. They reported the couple count was low (about 50%) and vibe was rather reserved. We're rubbing our rabbits feet on this trip, too bad this entire thread wasn't going at the same time.

We were at Desire when it first opened and believe me it did not have the "vibe" it does now. The vibe has developed over the years. For now we are splitting our time between the resorts. When we visited Pearl in May we met more than enough couples to have a great time, so we are looking forward to staying there in November.

Hopefully there are some hot, fun people in the lifestyle while we're there
