So anyone have a Pearl report to share?

We went last Halloween during a lifestyle takeover when it was still Cieba. Rooms were much better and the beach a little better than Desire. They have a nice pier like they used to have at Desire. The Hot Tub at Desire is much better (although rumor has it they are going to convert the small pool into a large hot tub). The Disco and the Play Room were only temporary so they were not as nice as Desire. The Spa Area and Gym at Pearl are better.

We were booked at Ceba Del Mar for the first week in February this year. The whole month was designated as a lifestyle month. Then we got canceled because Desire bought the property and decided to make some modifications and open on March 1st - bummer! We tried to get into the original Desire but it was booked. Now headed back to Hidden Beach. Love to hear some trip reports after the March opening.

We are booked for Desire Pearl March 30 - April 3. Excited about seeing the new resort!!

We just found out about it...It's the resort that used to be Ceiba Del Mar which is a beautiful resort only 13 miles from the airport. We are hoping to spend a few days there before our Desire trip in May to check it out.

Does anyone know much about the new resort opening in March 2012? How will it compare to the original? Any advantages/disadvantages?
