Losing the Disco room beds will be a good change. Beds are great for play, but around the dance floor they were impossible to get comfortable. With a large group, it was hard to get seated and it didn't work for intimacy or any cross pollination. We agree it also discouraged getting up and down to participate in the dance floor. There were beds and a play room right around the corner, so this change should be an improvement. We're at Pearl in November for seven days beginning on the 21st, we'll give a full report of Pearl facilities and occupancy. If you're going over the T-Day holiday give us a shout so we can meet some new SLS friends.

we've heard that they're getting rid of the beds in the disco. (im guilty) and instead of people gettiing out on the floor and dancing or visiting, they were laying back in the beds, not participating. there's no better party than a crowded bar. they are replacing all of the disco and playroom furniture as well and i think getting rid of the elevated dancing platforms (another trip & fall/drunk hazard), but not the poles. most of the guest rooms had full length mirrors last may, but we understand that the re-do will get new full lengths and storage and make up mirrors/desk etc redo bathrooms etc. and HOPEFULLY brighter adjustable lighting! guests were starting to bring their own bulbs on vacation! LOL

Oh and I forgot to say I hope the disco gets rid of those beds. They waste so much room for the dance floor. They should also get rid of the raised dance floor but leave the pole. I have seen far to many people fall off of the elevation in the 11 times we have been there. One year someone fell off hit the bar stools and broke his nose and she broke a rib. Now I know alcohol was part of that but it is dangerous. You have to concentrate to much while dancing up there LOL!!!

PLease please please put full length mirror in the passion suites. A woman always needs a last check mirror that includes seeing the shoes LOL!!!!

its about time. long overdue for new room look and dresser space. need to fix jacuzzi also, its the reason for living!

Cancun, September 28th, 2012. Desire Resort & Spa Riviera Maya has great news! Our sanctuary for couples only is currently undergoing a remodeling in all its suites and rooms, that is expected to be finished by December 15th this year. The project includes new furnishings, better lighting, more drawer space and many other details that obey the suggestions our guests have shared with us. This 1.000.000 USD investment is being carried out on a villa by villa basis, so that these changes won't disturb the guests in any way or cause them any inconvenience. Our guests can rest assured that they won't even notice these renovations are taking place at the resort. In addition, the disco and playroom are being remodeled for the second time in three years and our guests are going to love it! The work will be done in the daytime, which means that during the redecoration, the disco will be open and working at night as normal.
