It is open dinning at the regular dinning room from 6:00 PM to 8:30 you can eat anytime from that time. Same with breakfast and lunch open seating.
My wife has low blood sugar, why we should eat regular time not to late in the evening so we will be eating early, like 6:00. Last cruise I tipped the head waiter always for certain time and always has a table ready for us. Always fun to set with different people at dinner. Meet new people and friends. I would suggest going to the speciality restaurants right away when you get on board to make a reservation if you can't before you board for a date, time for dinner.

About the dining, we tried several times to pick a dining time and a specially restaurant only to be denied by the RCC site saying that its not available at this time. Is anyone else having these issues or am I just that computer illiterate? Thanks..... and we are so looking forward to this trip....

From the RCCL website on the Jewel of Seas Restaurants.

•Specialty restaurants Chops Grille steakhouse and Portofino Italian restaurant, where for one low cover charge you can choose any items off the menu from appetizer to dessert*

We have dined at both and prefer Chops - we think the crab cakes, onion soup, braised short rib, Filet mignon, and Red Velvet cake are all excellent.

As for selecting a dining time - On the Freedom in November is was all my time dining where you eat when you want and with who you want but maybe this cruise is different. The wait was usually less than 15 - 20 minutes.

"There are no dumb questions" my employer always said......Does anyone know if there is the italian and steak restaurant on the ship? I would like to make a reservation and I am getting conflicting information. I would also like someone to explain to me why I have to choose 5:30 or 8:00 for dinner in the main dining room.. Is there a huge wait if you don't have a dining time?
