I don't remember how to get to it, but a while ago I saw a Yahoo group for "Cruise Ship Employees'" and there was one story about a management level service person who tried to "rape" a (stupid, IMHO) female passenger who agreed to have a drink w/him after hours in one of the dining rooms. He denied but they did a black light test and found semen one chair that the woman pointed out, etc. Don't remember the outcome but can imagine.

There was an article recently in Maxim magazine talking about the behind the scenes stuff on cruises. It had several mentions of crew members fraternizing with guests and the consequences. Some were as slight as a slap on the wrist for entertainers at most (some of them it even mentioned were not even disciplined) all the way up to immediate dismissal. It specifically mentioned that the ultimate no-no was taking a guest into the crew bar below decks. That was grounds for immediate termination.

No question some of the female wait staff are quite palatable, but I also noticed in one of the Princess daily notes to passengers, that they say not to mistake the friendly attitude of the staff for anything else; they are trained to be friendly but there is a "no contact" rule in place.

I too saw theses posts on cruise critic. This will be our first cruise that we are going on next week, and though not a lifestyle cruise, hoping to find a little fun. The msg boards left me wondering if we are too open about our lifestyle, getting thrown in the brig or something lol.

Was thinking about over tipping the cd to be allowed down in the crews qtrs it seems thats where all the good partying is going on. lol

Being a cruise addict, I frequent the cruise-critic board almost as much as I do here. I recently wrote the Moderator of the Forums and suggested they put a category for Lifestyle cruises under "theme" or "Special interest" cruises. I received a not back saying that the "request" had been made several times before and the answer was the same, "No!." I wrote back and said, ***blue*** "OK, it's your playground and you set the rules, and I have no problem with that. Out of curiosity, can you tell me why you rejected the category of 'Lifestyle?'"***/blue*** The response was that the Moderator was not ready to promote "alternative" lifestyles. I wrote back and said "Thanks for the reply; I'm not really understanding your position in view of the fact you 'promote' the categories of gay and lesbian cruises, and they seem clearly alternative lifestyles." Never heard anything back on that one but it seems more than a little hypocritical. Their playground.
