We don't normally write reviews but our stay here was so surprisingly good we felt the club/resort/campground deserves the recognition. We booked not knowing what to expect. Normally websites over promise and provide dated pictures that show the property in better than real life. Their website undersells the property. New owners have remade this small resort into something special. First, it is clean, clean, clean! They have campsites but we rented a room that was small but immaculate. Second, the small pool is heated??. The evening temps were cold and without the heater the pool would not have been used. They have finished a building for a large hot tub which is expected to be running soon. They also have a dedicated playroom. Third, breakfest and dinner are included! This was a pleasant and completely unexpected surprise. For breakfest, they cooked eggs by order with bacon, sausage, hash browns and various fruits. Dinner was bbq chicken with corn, mashed potatoes, baby meatballs, salad and dessert. Just WOW!! Fourth and most importantly are the people. The owners were not there this weekend but everyone spoke very highly of them and their dedication to making this resort top notch. Gearjammerandbiker manage the resort with the help of palin1992460. These couples, along with all of the regulars made sure us first timers felt welcome and included. There was a couple that flew into New Bern on a private plane and gearjammerandbiker picked them up at the airport. That same coiple neede to leave the resort to get supplies and gearjammerandbiker loaned them their car. In 1 year, this resort is already a lifestyle friendly diamond. One big negative is that we live 1500 miles away. Don't pass it up, if you get the chance.
