User Details are only visible to members.	A couple of months ago I became Group Master for the St Louis Area Over-50 Swinging Couples. The previous Group Master had started a Group Newsletter but it did not transfer with the Mastership. Thus the Newsletter function became useless but there did not seem to be any interest by SLS to fix the problem, even as "simple" as a manual transfer of the Newsletter to me. In lieu of any other reasonable way to communicate with Group members I have been individually sending my "newsletters" to each member. Slow, clumbsy, but not impossible with a relatively small group. Today the old Group Master tried the Newsletter function again to see if we could avoid individual mailings to every Group member. The newsletter notification never showed up on my home page. Earlier I had clicked the Newsletter button on the home page but there was no hint that anything had changed. Later, I tried again. I clicked Newsletters and the Subscriptions tab. Eight of the "Over-50" newsletters were listed (as individual subscriptions) but every line was identical -- no way to tell there was anything new. I clicked the top line anyway and low and behold another box -- this time listing 6 newsletters and the date they were published. The brand new May 6 edition was at the top. There are two things one could surmise. First, the notification function is broken. Second, that since I am Group Master the system assumes I wrote the Newsletter and did not need a notification that it existed. This, of course, flies in the face of the failure/inability of SLS to transfer the Group Newsletter with the Group Meistership. If the other members of the Group aren't getting a reasonable, easy to see, notice then the whole purpose of the newsletter is kaput. It is, as always, very frustrating. Bob

User Details are only visible to members.	The NEWSLETTER feature would be much more useful if it included a way of restricting the viewing of a newsletter to ONLY those who were invited to view it. I see references to a PERSONAL newsletter, but when I created a newsletter to invite people to a party it seems to have been published for everyone to read, which is not what I wanted. Have I missed something or is this feature missing? Thanks

User Details are only visible to members.	Chrystal..."create a discussion in your group" simply ignores the issue. The whole purpose of even Having a group newsletter is to pro-actively disseminate news and information to Group members without requiring them to visit the Group home page every day or using mass emails. "Create a discussion in your group" is the functional equivalent of requiring you to phone your local newspaper office every morning to get your news. As a computer systems professional of over forty years, I can safely say that this newsletter has Not been thoroughly thought through before being coded and implemented. SLS coded a means of transferring Group ownership, but not of linking or transferring the Group newsletter? We can create a newsletter, but not delete or transfer our own newsletter?? Were SLS my employer, I would strongly recommend pulling it out of service, doing a thorough functional analysis, and recoding it properly. The inability to transfer or delete newsletters is major.

User Details are only visible to members.	Haha. This goes back to what group owners really want which is a way to mass email the group to announce parties and events. Which has been brought up multiple times and shot down by sls every time it was brought up. I understand sls's concern about spam but maybe set a limit to 1 announcement a week or every other week. Every other Swinger website allows this for getting out group messages and is the only true way to get out an announcement. Why is sls still so stuck on this?

User Details are only visible to members.	This had not come up before, and really the easiest/best thing to do for it until they look at it further, would be to create a discussion in your group, with your newsletter. Chrystal

User Details are only visible to members.	The Newsletters page appears to have only "Create, Invite, Compose", with no means of transferring newsletter ownership. Further, the system doesn't appear to allow a new group master to create a fresh newsletter. Lastly, there also appears to be no means by which the old newsletter can be deleted, allowing the from-scratch creation of a new newsletter. We need to know how to manage the group newsletter after the group has been transferred to a new group master...Help! What is the process/procedure? Has this issue never come up before? Disseminating information to group members is becoming a real problem!

User Details are only visible to members.	Chystal: I managed to invite all of our group members to subscribe to my Personal newsletter for the group -- a grand total of 27 invites. Thus far only 1 of the invitations has been accepted, that being from the former Group Meister. It would seem that any of three things has happened. 1) Nobody cares (which is unlikely); b) People are thoroughly confused because they think that they are already subscribed to the group newsletter; and/or 3) the notification on their home page is so subtle that they haven't noticed it. All in all, as before, a pretty frustrating exercise. Because nobody was accepting the invite I did a copy and paste and mailed the newsletter to each member. That was pretty fast except that I got ahead of your timer allowing a max of three mailings per member. Any chance you can manually transfer the group Newsletter to the new Group Master (me)? I would hate to have to go through all of this again in a week.

User Details are only visible to members.	Chrystal: Thank you for the additional info. The method worked but does take time. A particular issue is that for a "Personal" newsletter I am only allowed to issue 10 invites per day so it will take 4 days to invite everybody in our small group. I understand the logic but it gets in the way at the moment. It would certainly have been easier if I had been able to establish a Group newsletter and issued invites to everyone at the same time. Even easier would have been if the Group newsletter previously established had gone over with the change of Group Master last week. I realize that trying to integrate all the possible variations into the program can be a bear and there is always someone who wants things to work a bit differently than the way you had planned it. At the moment it is pretty frustrating but I assume you will work it all out eventually. Thanks for your help. Bob
