To turn off Compatibility Mode in IE:

  1. Go to the Tools Menu.
  2. Click "Compatibility View Settings".

If "swinglifestyle.com" is listed under "Websites you've added to Compatibility View", select it then click the "Remove" button.

Also, ensure that "Display all websites in Compatibility View" near the bottom of the dialog is not checked.

Load the "Who's On" page after completing the steps above. Do you see any Green icons?

I haven't tried to send any messages today, so don't know if the issue continues. As for having to click in the box to respond to IMs....I'm using the latest IE and have tried Chrome with the same results. I've not tried Firefox....but, I'm not interested enough to download it and try. I guess I just assume that most people use IE. But, then again....I could be wrong in my assumption.

Are you still experiencing the issue "IM quits working. Messages won't send."?

Regarding the other issue, "still have to click in the box to type after each send or after each message is received". Some other members using IE11 have reported the same issue.

1. Are you using IE11?

2. Do you experience the same issue in Firefox or Chrome?

Having issues last nite and today. IM quits working. Messages won't send. Also, still have to click in the box to type after each send or after each message is received. Been having that problem ever since the new IM came into being. I've already mentioned that problem before but there doesn't seem to be an answering fix.

I have been having the same issue, of IM logging ....... that goes on for ever. this has be happening for the last few months. Crazy I can IM on my phone, would really just like the PC sire to work.

I'm using the latest version of Firefox and IM isn't showing when the other person is typing. Other than that, it seems to be working fine. Thanks!

Oops, your bandaid came off. We're back to 'Loading', 'IM reloading', 'Loading', ad nauseum, with just 115 users logged in to the system. This is happening on both MSIE and Firefox, so don't even Think about responding "you're running the wrong version or patch level"!

We have quit even trying to use IM.

I use IE 11 and see the same loading/reloading/connecting/reconnecting problem whenever the SLS system loading is high. You're not going to fix your IM problem by telling your customers that they have to change/update their systems to meet your standards. You're Certainly not going to fix the IM problem when the suggested changes/updates don't work. I strongly recommend that you look at your System and ApplicationError logs for the time periods when your system loading is high ... in the evenings, for example.

If you are using a version of IE older than IE 9 and have been experiencing a recent issue with a "Loading" message which doesn't go away, please try the following:

1. Log out of SLS.

2. Restart IE and log into SLS.

Are you now able to successfully connect to the SLS IM?

The recommendation by tech suport did not resolve the problem. Compatibility settings are exactly as they should be. I attempted to launch SLS under Google Chrome and everything worked fine. I should not have to use an alternate browser as a means to circumvent a technical problem. Thinking seriously about dropping SLS at the end of my membership.
