Hello SLS Team, We regularly receive emails inviting us to groups, however, there is no way to learn something about the group to help in the decision. It would really be helpful to have a couple of sentences or some other info about a group before being required to click accept or decline. Thanks,

A group description would definitely be a welcomed addition, though I don't know if it would actually solve the problem or not.

We get group invites from time to time where the group name is plenty descriptive in and of itself. The problem (if you want to call it that) is that we usually don't know anyone in the group itself and if the other members are compatible with us.

Of course, that's just the nature of the beast, imo. When we get invites to random groups, we'll usually accept the invitation and then check out the group events, other members, the group discussion board, etc, etc, to see if it's an active group that actually does stuff together or if there's a large pool of existing members who look to be compatible with us. If it looks like a good group, we might stay for a bit. If not, we'll just leave the group. If we've been in a group for more than a few months but haven't had any interaction with other members or anything, then we'll also leave.

I don't think adding a group description is really going to change any of those issues. It takes about 2 seconds to accept a group invite, maybe 5 minutes to poke around and if you don't like what you see, you can leave just as quickly as you entered.
