Original Starting post for this thread:
Today for the first time we approved some pictures. Naturally, we followed the guidelines laid down by our webmasters... however we did have an "issue" with one of the definitions! The last "g rated" instruction states "These pictures are the ones you feel are fine for children to see". Surely it is not intentionally worded to be offensive however.....Nudity is NOT sexual to those of us who are naturist/nudists and we actually are offended by that statement. Naturally, we understand the intent is to protect this site against the fascist judeo-christian government under which we live. Are we being sensitive? sure...the statement implies that since our children see nude people all the time we and many of our friends must then be bad parents......personally we're not sure the statement is even necessary since "no nudity at all" pretty much already covers it :-) Sue and Chris

cnyswingers,

It sounds like your picture may have been sent back to the approval area to be reviewed again. There are several reasons why that may occur...

A picture with a lot of white space around it may be sent back to be cropped so that it looks better.

A picture that is sideways or upside down may be sent back to be rotated.

A picture that is rated incorrectly may be sent back to be rerated.

A default picture should be a type 1 or 2. No type 3 pictures (explicit) should be used as defaults.

Just a couple last comments...PATogether...no one was insulting you...We just think you misunderstood the point...you are certainly not ignorent because you dont want to have your kids see nude people...its just a peeve that generally people equate nudity with sex. We're also sorry if you feel that experiences in the past have led you to believe that all bi people think you are homophobic because you're str8...we know from experience as well that open-minded people can be hard to find...have we have had relationships with many couples in the past who knew we were both Bi...but as we all respected eachother it actually worked out well in the end.

PenButtons...your asessment is pretty much on the $ as to how the law is generally applied. There are a number of interesting other legal points not many people are aware of. For instance, breastfeeding in "public" is generally illegal...but great groups like the "LaLeche League" defends womens natural rights. This eventually led to the ability of women in NY State to go barebreasted in public...just so long as the conduct wasnt "lewd". Of course that is a fine line to most people isnt it? :-)

Did you know that there is actually NO Federal Law prohibiting public nudity? Weird eh? All laws are state and local. Thats why at Federal Beaches such as Sandy Hook nudity is allowed. The Nude restriction to just Gunnison Beach is really just a reasonable compromise between nudists/naturists and the park management in not offending the "textile" wearing public.

BTW, Great....the 2 of you now make me feel like eating cookies! :-D

cnyswingers default picture is a type II (nudity). The statement about children would not apply to it.

Sometimes the rating of pictures requires a judement call. I have rated fully clothed pictures as type II due to the nature of the picture.

We love your crotch grabbing example!!!! We will Definitely NOT ever approve any Michael Jackson Pics !!!!! :-D

The guidelines are VERY clear as 2 the 3 types of pics and how the webmasters wish them to be approved and works well for instructing the general user. Its just that a "pet peeve" among nudists is the constant ignorence of the general populace confusing nudity and sex. Bi
