For example, it's not uncommon for couples who start swinging to actually prefer separate rooms because they are not sure they will feel comfortable seeing their spouse having sex with another person. There is some logic to it, if you think about it. Still, there is a certain tendency for couples to make the transition in the direction soft --> full --> separate ... etc. If you guys enjoy separate dates, more power to you!

User Details are only visible to members.	I sometimes think of playing separately as "advanced swinging". Consider that when many couples start, and they are not sure that they want to do this, they will just do "soft swinging". As they become more comfortable with the idea of having sex with others they will be willing to full swap, but only in the same room. Then as they become more comfortable sharing their sexuality with others they may venture into separate rooms. And finally (at least as far as I can see!), they may decide that their level of comfort allows them to actually have separate dates (or, if you prefer, "playing separately"). I guess it wouldn't hurt to have such a category, but I suspect that relatively few couples would be willing to announce openly that this is an option they consider. I could be wrong though. For us, playing separately has never been something that we planned, but more like a situation that developed naturally out of a more conventional attempt to hook up with another couple. One of us was not willing to "take one for the team", but at the same time did not want to ruin the other's chances to have some fun, so we would say, why not: "you go have some fun, maybe next time it will be my turn". So we wouldn't list ourselves in any formal category of "couples who play separately", because we are not interested primarily in that kind of deal. At the same time, we are open to the possibility that it may happen. We both have had our chance to play separately, but we have discovered that we really like to be together socially with other couples, instead of dating separately. We truly enjoy the social component of swinging.

User Details are only visible to members.	That's true. We have done so in the past and may do so again. It's hard to find others open to it as a good many have been almost offended when we have brought it up. Even in a lifestyle based on openness there is still quite a bit of narrow mindedness and unyielding opinions when something is presented that isn't exactly the way "we" think it should be.
