| We are wondering why we see so many people wanting to be "friends first" or friends "in and out" of the bedroom, instead of just playmates for sexual adventures. We always thought swinging and swapping was NOT all about making best friends forever, but for the purpose of having sexual entertainment with others that enjoy no strings sex with others. What ever happen to "fuck buddies" couples or people that get together for the sole purpose of casual sex? |

This appears to us to be another one of those "different strokes for different folks" issues. There are no rules in swinging. Do what YOU like.
When we were knew, we felt more comfortable about becoming friends first. Then we went to a few house parties. It's amazing how fast you can become friends after having sex with someone! :-) Isn't sex about the friendliest thing two (or more) people can do together? Jim |

If it were not for the STD issues and building a trust in the people we play with then we wouldn't care one way or the other.
You can never be sure, but you can reduce your risk by getting to know people personally, and knowing them that way will give you a bit of insight as to how they care for themselves in different situations. |

If you consider that a lot of couples, particularly the less-experienced, might be a little cautious about who they share their intimate life with, maybe it makes sense that they'd like to get to know you fairly well before they fuck you.
Could that be what "friends first" means? |

I used to think to let people get too close in the lifestyle would hinder our wanting to play with them...But we have both discovered it all depends on the people. ;-)

I do have to tell you though....we have found that once you go into the realm of "good friends" the dynamics tend to change away from sexual. I have 2 people I met in the lifestyle, originally intended to be fuck buddies and nothing more. Now they are within my tiny inner circle. To think about fucking them now seems odd.
