User Details are only visible to members.	I didn't read any of the other posts, but I wanted to reply to the OP. All VERY GOOD questions. I agree. At my job, I sometimes get calls from people wanting recommendations on doctors. If the name is "foreign-sounding," some people will ask where is he/she from? Is he/she American?...It just drives me crazy! I understand about the accent part of it, some people can be hard to understand if English isn't their first language. But, are they American?! That one makes me want to just slap somebody. Are you American? I want to reply with, "Do you live in America? Are YOU an American?" Ugh! And are you white? That one is irritating too...Like you say, define "white!" This subject gets me really riled up... Mrs.

User Details are only visible to members.	Labels are used for convenience mostly...if some refers to the "white girl" or the "black guy", everyone usually knows who they are talking about. I don't think either are derogatory, do you? It's really no different than referring to the "old guy" or the "blonde gilr"...it is a readily identifiable trait. Of course, you could argue the other extreme...why do we refer to people as "girl" or "guy"? We're all just people, right? A
