I agree with bifyorkcpl, the profile had a lot going on. All black throughout the paragraph and maybe red at the end to highlight a specific point. No capital letters except the start of a sentence, proper noun, etc. What I have found that works for me, is to find everyone within driving distance that I am interested in and writing them a personal e-mail. I try to include something from their profile in my e-mail and either ask or answer a question that I think is pertinent. Try to e-mail twenty or so prospective people, that have been on the site in the last few days to a week and see what you come up with. If that does not work, move your radius out and e-mail another twenty. Good luck

I've done copy-editing on the side, and at first sight, your profile looks a bit complicated and hard to read...visually. I'm usually too wordy, so we all have our "flaws." For a single guy, however, you're going to have to catch the eye visually, so I would first tone down the caps. Color is ok, but how you use it looks like a warning before anyone gets to the words themselves. There's a lot going on in your profile, with symbols and just visual "choppiness." Also, take to heart posting a pic, even just a shot wearing sunglasses or something. Or chopping wood, or riding a wave...just anything will do. This may sound silly, but check out the other single guys' profiles and see which ones have a lot of certifications...those ones are probably doing SOMETHING right. Email who you're interested in...as for me, I always reply to everyone, even if I don't prefer him...I will politely decline, but I will reply. Good luck!

I can't speak for everyone. But we avoid profiles with no pictures. I do see you have a private picture but if we are just browsing we probably would not even read it. No public picture screams "something to hide!!". It doesn't have to be a face shot or a nude shot. Just an honest shot that draws some attention.
