It's interesting to me that the harsh profiles get more hits...I think people ARE attracted to sarcasm. I know I enjoy that in some people, but there's a difference between being harsh for humor's sake and just being kind of negative. Not that I think you're negative, I don't think that. We tweak our profile too from time to time, but right now it says pretty much what we want it to, and lets people know a bit about us and what we like.

Try again with another party mid winter when everyone is restless and not celebrating holidays...and good luck, enjoy.

Thanks for taking the time, BiFYorkCpl. Its a interesting perspective. We at one time had a harsher profile than the one that is currently up, and got more emails than we are now. But we will remove the "edge" abit form the profile to try to make it more welcoming.

as for the B-day we believe we meet some good people and thought of them as friends, but unfortunately guess they are not who they said they were. C'est la vie

Your profile is ok, but it's not "welcoming," and actually sounds a bit harsh in places. You want to draw people to you rather than seemingly put up your hands and say, "we like this, but wait a minute...here's what we DON"T want." You don't leave many openings for people to want to get to know you better. As for the birthday celebration, that takes getting to know people first before they will commit to coming to a stranger's party. And you're right, not much goes on during the holidays unless it's stuff that was already planned well in advance (hotel parties being the top). A few spelling problems to fix, and a few punctuation issues, but I would rethink how you word things, and at least start with positives in your sentences and only add a few negative sounding statements. Hello all, we posted awhile back asking for some advice on our profile. Really didnt get any response at all. Wasnt sure if that was a good thing or not. Since our post we meet one couple, that was only because we emailed them. Guess we are trying to figure out why we dont get any emails that isnt a response to us taking the first step. Many times we dont even get a response. A little recent history for you and why we are frustrated. We are blaming this on the holiday, but we had as a tagline (for 3weeks) about hubbies B-day is this weekend (the 4th)looking for some people to calibrate with us. Still did not get an email.
