From a surgeon...
You should your surgeon ask about application of silicone sheeting at this point. This has become a standard treatment to reduce the size/depth of scarring. Be certain protect any suture lines from sun, wind or other trauma for six months after surgery. It will take at least that long for the scar to mature. I typically recommend that women use SPF highest available number on such areas for at least a year. Good luck! |
