I went threw menopause when i was 25 yrs old and it got so bad that poor Markie would come home from work put his hat in the door to see if it stayed in his hand or not. If hat was knocked out of hand he just quietly backed out the door and drove around for a few for the moment to pass ............if the hat stayed he came on in and knew he was safe..........it was hilarious. He tells others who talk about menopause to watch out because women become Bitches from Hell ......... or at least i was anyway...LOL) He did very well though puttin up with me threw all that till it was regulated out. User Details are only visible to members.	Two weeks before my fiftieth birthday I had my last period. That was last November and it is now April. If I hadn't been going on almost a year without sex (getting over an abusive relationship) I would have worried that I was pregnant. I had periods you could set your calandar to, exactly every 28 days like clockwork...then nothing! I never had/have any hot flashes. I did however have occasional night sweats, but have had those all my life. But let me tell you, even tho the periods were regular...so was my horrible moods. Never had cramping or excessive bleeding, but the pms moods would go like this: first month mild, second month a couple days of insanity, third month suicidal/homicidal hysteria and then start over...so every third month would be horrible emotionally. The ups and downs of that roller coaster was a nightmare. Since I turned 50, I have been on a level for the first time since I was 11 years old....it's totally awesome and I'm loving life again!! So to answer the original question: Hell yes, and believe me in my state of mind I would have gotten off on the insanity defense. I'm loving this menopause thing, I hope nothing changes...lol

User Details are only visible to members.	Syntest has worked well for me with some bio-identicals. I am hoping to go to full bio-identicals. Have any of you spoken with your dr about bioi-dentical hormones? These are hormones that do not come in just a one size fits all pill but are created specifically to meet the needs of your body. I would recommend that everyone read Suzanne Sommer's book The Sexy Years. She is very open and honest about what she went through and how she helped herself. Also read the books by Dr. Lee, one on menopause and one on perimenopause. You can have symptoms for 10 years before you are actually going through the change. And on the lighter side... if you can, go see Menopause, The Musical. At least it is some comic relief from this craziness.

The thing is, I had such a bad time with my periods - 7 days of heavy bleeding, cramps, vomiting, etc. - that hot flashes and mood swings seem like a piece of cake! The worst part for me is the tiredness that sometimes overtakes me, and sometimes feeling unfocused. As was mentioned, I think the main thing is not to get stressed about the symptoms. Hot flashes don't feel good, but they won't kill you. Of course, my going from being too hot to too cold all the time might just drive my husband nuts! LOL Julia

User Details are only visible to members.	I had hot flashes in my late 30s. Tests showed I was not menopausal. It got so bad I dehydrated and had to go to the hospital. So watch your H2O intake during them. I found stress triggered my flashes. When I learned to relax a bit and not get worked up, seemed my flashed stopped. i haven't have them in years BUT.... I'm 46 .. almost 47 according to my mom : ) and I think when the fck does this period stop? I cant wait sheshhhhh.. I had been regular and blessed my whole life. 3 lite days and done. every 30 days. No PMS, no cramps, no nuthin and now I am so unpredictable that it is driving me nuts. For the last 6 mos it seems I have it more than I don't and now its back to every 30 days. WTF? please tell me I have months before it stops lol My tests still show I'm not going through menopause and I just so wanna get it over with already. thanks, joan*

User Details are only visible to members.	Carrie, I would have welcomed cold spells or even mood swings when I went though the sweats. You know how hot and humid Texas can get. It started when I was 38 and taking classes at UT in the Spring semester when it started and I carried a towel and wash rag with me everywhere. I would soak the washrag down with cold water between each class and use a tiny fan to help me just make it through. It was very embarrassing as I would just sit and pour. I never saw anyone go through what I did. My clothes and hair were soaked within minutes and anything I held had to be dried off. So many people made comments about what was going on with me. I looked awful and felt miserable. I had to take the summer semesters off for my own peace of mind. That continued for over a year. I could not even think of make-up. My doctor took the blood work and we were both surprised it did not show I was in Menopause. The night sweats were easier to deal with because no one could see me cept my X. He complained often that it was like sleeping near a stream. I had a plastic mattress pad under the cloth one and had several back-ups to change the covers everyday. I slept with the AC cranked, ceiling fan, a standing fan, and 1 sheet. Even the sheet was too much, but I needed something to block all the wind. LOL! My X slept under tons of covers because it was so cold in my house. It slowly went away and I hope I never experience anything like that ever again. That was several years ago and I am still going through phases of menopause, but thankfully the sweats ended and have not returned. My sisters never experienced anything like what I did. Now, I am experiencing some mood swings, but bitchy is not what I experience. Lucky me gets to go through the cry at nothing phases every once in a while, and never knowing if I will have that time of month or if I do, will it be easy or hard. I am not complaining about missing periods for two months at a time, but I occasionally have a hard one to make up for time lost. That's a lot easier to deal with. They say it is different for everyone, and the amount of time to go through it can be short or last forever. I think I got the forever. RaveN ( :~

User Details are only visible to members.	Here's a little solution to quell the urge to go homicidal over that remote situation you seem to be experiencing. Albeit humorously evil, it does tend to give some temporary satisfaction to the perpetrator of the prank. Get a duplicate working remote (easy if you're dealing with a cable box). Remove the batteries from the remote used by the King of channel surfers. Position yourself and your batteried duplicate remote close to the victim while covertly concealing the the working remote. Everytime your victim attempts to change the channel on the TV, you can control your remote to watch any other channel you wish. This will effectively drive the victim batty while you struggle to conceal laughin your butt off all the while clicking your working remote everytime they try to change the channel. Granted, it's a temporary fix, but one to ensure a little poetic justice sans bloodbath. Sure beats spending A life sentence behind bars ;-)
