Ha, I imagined sugaring was just taking a handful of sugar and scouring away the hairs.

Ha! I could Never do that to myself. The cosmetologist was shocked when I could carry on a conversation while she waxed, but when I tried to take off an electrode from my abdomen for about 5 minutes, I was practically in tears. I sheepishly asked a technician to do it. I couldn barely feel it when someone else ripped it off.

actually sugaring is also called sugar waxing or Persian waxing. It isn't wax but a mixture made from sugar that is used like wax is. It elipates pretty much the same as wax although does tend to be gentler to the skin.
make your own: 2 units of sugar 1/4 unit of lemon (either fresh or from a bottle, not from concentrate) 1/4 unit of water Heat to about 118 degrees. Allow to cool. Powder the area with cornstarch or baby powder, apply paste then use muslin to press into the sugar solution, and rip off taking hair with it. |
