Wow, Sed and I actually agree on something! Uriah - you are correct! Must wear sun glasses year round. Squinting causes major wrinkles around the eyes and the "11s" on the forehead.

As a blue eyed blonde with a fair complexion...I am rather susceptible to sun damage if not careful. So I am cautious and when outdoors I use spf 15 at very minimum and several years ago I opted to change from a base foundation to tinted moisturizer w/spf 15. I also wear sunglasses year-round, squinting in bright light surely can't be a good thing either.

My cousin is a skin doctor. My sister is a make artist with national certification in skin care. Neither one goes outside without covering themselves with sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher (neither one goes for higher than 45). In addition, their foundation has spf protection. Which they reapply a few times during days that they're outdoors.

HotIrish is spot on. The sun is a killer when it comes to skin. Even on overcast days. This is why you hear skin specialists always recommend that people do not leave their homes without slathering on protection.

Tan looks great until a certain age, and then you realize that you're like an old worn out leather sofa that's covered in in actinic keratoses, and wonder, why the heck did I not listen to what I was being told!

Actually sun burn is damage. A tan is the body's natural mechanism to protect itself from damage.

Tan is actually skin damage, did you know this? Sun damage may look great when your young, but later on you will have brown skin that looks like and feels like leather. Not to mention skin cancer! Sun is the worst for your face also. Yes, some sun is good for vitamin D - before 11am and after 3pm for no more than 20 minutes WITH sun screen..... just saying......most people think I am a lot younger than I am, because I don't have all the sun damge most women my age do......

caught some rays while I was watching my older boy's baseball practice. 100 degrees is no fun, though
