you may want to skip foundation. I did not wear foundation for years and years...but you have to have a seriously good skin care regimen so your skin looks super hydrated and healthy. Glad you are trying different things. Another option, if you see a dermatologist...they usually know of good, hypo allergenic products as well.

The Sephora make up I tried today, a primer ultra smoothing and mineral foundation and blush bothered my eyes about an hour after application. It's not as bad as other products I've tried, but not perfect yet. Tomorrow I'll give Bare Escentuals a try. Thanks again for your suggestions.

you are welcome! I am just now learning how to do smokey eyes...but I bought a kit. It basically shows you how to do it :0).

Thanks for all the great tips, sexy ladies! Once I find a makeup I can use, I'll have to ask my youngest daughter to teach me how to do the eyes. Somehow she managed to become very adept at it without (or despite) my influence!

Scandle, I believe Clinique products are gentle as well. Eye liner can irritate, I use Loreal liquid eye liner. Works good, I tried a less expensive liner and it tore my allergies up.

I am an Ulta/Sephora girl. I was using only Nars, but lately I have been doing smokey eyes with Smash Box. Great stuff. I have big time eye allergies, I cannot even wear contact lenses because the tearing washes them out. I have no issues with these 2 brands, the worst probs I get are from my eyelash glue.

Scandle, I agree with PG. I had an eye injury a few years ago, and my eyes are still very sensitive. The only thing I can use around my eyes is Arbonne. Mascara, liner and shadow. I have even fallen asleep with it on and not had a problem. The minute I try another brand, my eyes tear, burn and turn red.
Good Luck D

PG, you're not trying to sell them to me (yet!), so I'll trust your judgement. :-D
