The office I use has a laser surface area about the size of half a playing card- only more rectangular. It takes a while to cover much ground there, too. They go over each area at two intensity levels- one takes care of surface growth and the other zaps the follicle- or something like that...I seem to have a high tolerance for this type of pain and can use the maximum settings at the office. I would like a gold star for this but I'll settle for smoothness!

Hi Bama ~~ Welcome to the forums :)
Thank you for posting that information - very happy for you. If I could get a deal like that around here, I would probably jump on it. Didn't know about the lidocaine gel!! No wonder it's working faster for you since you can handle the level 5. Question - the laser that the professionals use, is it larger than the size of a quarter? It takes so long to do one section because I can only cover a quarter-size spot at a time. Kat |

Thanx Kat. I think I'm gonna give it a try too.
You know, I dont have girls, and never really saw much vanity stuff, but a a few months ago my son (19) and about 6 of his friends were hangin out here and ALL of them were talking about how they try to get rid of the hair on their whole bodies!. Apparently smooth is in for both sexes now. My poor son must have inherited my italian genes, lol, and has some hair on his back (not that I have hair on my back, lol) that is impossible for him to shave himself...LOL! (yes, he gets his friends to do it!!) I'm thinking of sharing it with him too. ...but just for his back! lol!!! |

Yes, the Tria. It has 5 levels - can't imagine anyone being able to take level 5! For most of my areas, I can only take level 1, but I'm able to do level 2 on the legs. The higher the level, the quicker the result, of course.

Very happy with my purchase. I was mainly concentrating around the bikini area. One area is completely hair free. I wasn't even doing every 2 weeks - very easy to forget and it would go to more like 3 weeks. I'm concentrating on my legs now. What you first see is that it is slower to grow back, which is great in and of itself. I try to do calves one day, thighs the next as it is time consuming and the laser can only hold about 30 to 45 minutes of power, and the area of the laser is only about the size of a quarter.

My place does lifetime touch-ups for $50 per visit after your initial treatment. That is way less than a full wax and lasts longer. It's nurse administered in a doc supervised setting and I hope it is around for a very long time.

Yep. I know it's not permanent. I'd be thrilled with lighter, finer hair, and longer time between shaving/waxing. However, everyone is different. Mrs. SS had the laser removal and she has stayed smooth. I figure I may as well give it a try. The Tria has very good reviews, unlike other products like No-No, or Epilady, lol! Remember THAT?!
