This is a dumb thread, but my girls can relate.
Went to the Dr. today, and I'm being put on a BCP that will stop me from getting a period!!!! Thank goodness! LOL! Shells |

LYBREL is a newly-approved, continuous-use, low dose birth control pill that usually takes 4 to 6 cycles for you to become completely without menstruation. Hope your health insurance covers the cost, as it's expensive! Smoking while taking this pill is very risky, especially if you are over 35. And no-one knows how this long-term use pill will affect the incidence of estrogen-mediated breast cancers. Please choose and use this product carefully!

Sex makes my periods light and only last 3 days. Much more fun than a pill. :)
I use to take the pill years ago and had no problems taking it. Now the pill causes me to PMS almost all the time. So, I can't take it. I don't need it for BC but was hoping it would help with my PMS symptoms. The older I get, the worse they get. Carrie |

i use the nuvaring, which lets ou control whether or not you have a period. my docs said i could go down to 4 /year with no health risk at all! and when flo does visit, it's for 3 very light short days... LOVE my nuvaring!

My damn periods are actually going in the opposite direction. For almost 30 years my periods have been irregular and anywhere from 6 weeks to 3 months apart. The last 2 years they are now 4 weeks apart like clock work....friggin mother nature!!

Thanks Shelly. That's so sweet of you to say. I hope you have great success with the new pill. It's so freeing not to have a period.

DGrey, I read your post and want to tell you that I was so impressed by your words! Jay and I have 3 children, and after raising these 3 somebody's I'm surprised he hasn't done a V on himself! LOL. But your selflessness in your thoughts just really impresses me.
Just wanted you to know that. Shelly |

My dr. told me today that this bcp is coming out next month. She said it is safe, albeit new, but will stop your AF altogether like alot of the IUD's are doing now.

Have had a Mirena for 2 years now and no flo. Once in a while I will get spotting and/or cramping but I LOVE not having to deal with it every month!!!

Well, I'm only on it now because I can no longer carry a child and having a monthly reminder of that was not something I looked forward to. Dino considered a vasectomy but God forbid something ever happened to me, I'd want him to be able to have children with a future wife should that ever happen.
