We've all set up dates to meet someone for the first time. I'd approached a single lady a few days back. We hit it off. Chat. Emails. Text. Phone calls. All were good/great. We booked a dinner date last Sunday to meet tomorrow (Thursday). I got the following text very early Monday morning:
my daughter died last night in a car accident. cancel thursday. I've been upset and thinking about this woman (and her family) that I'd never met. What do you say to comfort someone that has just lost a child? |

Given that you don't actually know her, I don't think there's much you can reply with besides "I am so sorry for your loss. If you need someone to talk to, I'm here". And let it be. If she comes to you, fine, if not, let it go.
