TOPIC: What would you do Or Strange Meetings

We've been corresponding a bit with a particular couple since we found out we were moving to Florida. Our profiles didn't really indicate a "play" match but definitely indicated a friends match. They said they sought friends most of all and being new here, we definitely seek friends. We've had several missed attempts at meeting for a happy hour. "Recently, we get an e-mail stating we will be at XXXX place at this time on this date. If you can, come there, great opportunity for you to meet new people and hopefully make new friends, look for us." We answer that we will likely be there. Jump ahead to the Happy Hour in question..we're there at the time indicated. A couple walks in, looks around the different bars and then in spite of wide open seating, sits at the bar right next to us and immediately strike up a conversation with us. Their age, height, weight appear identical to what we were told. The profile names of who we thought we were meeting are shortened versions of the names of the couple next to us. We tell them we were there to meet some people we knew from a chat site but didn't say what type of chat site. No response on this. They have been married, have a child, have lived in Florida all exactly the number of years of the people we thought we were meeting. They live in the same one mile radius of the people we thought we were meeting. They have lived in another location years ago that we lived once too, the same as the people we thought we were meeting. Our potential new friends never show up but we spend five hours with these chance encounter new friends and have a great time, really like them and make tentative plans to get together again soon. Okay, so of course we really do believe they are the couple we thought we were meeting. We came home and looked their profile over again as well as emails. Everything is dead on. Our conclusion is 1) They immediately decided we weren't a sexual match so went the way of chance encounter, lets visit, 2)only one of them is really the participant on the site we met them on and other is unaware or 3) it did turn out there is a career connection that may have scared them from admitting they were who we believe they were. We sent an email through the site asking. We got one back apologizing for not turning up and denying who we met was them. We don't give a rip about the sex but we did enjoy this couple and other than feeling there's this thing that happened we'd like to be friends. How woould you approach it?

User Details are only visible to members.	Bacchus, probably your explanation #2 explains their behavior. But regardless, you may not have a choice but to let them take the next step. Something "weird" is happening on their end; let them sort it out. If they want to see you again, they'll make some move. The only other thing I'd add is to be cautious. The fact that they apparently are not being honest with you, and maybe even among themselves, is definitely not a good sign. Hopefully you'll get a change to meet many other normal and healthy couples in your new area.

There are so many transient people.We have also met many would call themselves a name on line, even go as far as calling themselves this name when you meet ,normally the later the evening goes the real names seem to come out.We met one couple where she had 3 first names then told us her real first name later on. Treat it as if you did meet a cool couple at a bar.I know for us, when we are at a pub, whoever is unlucky to sit beside us, end up chatting,getting drink etc.Guess it part of the midwest hospitality that we grew up with. ps in Florida its really easy to hook up with swingers in a pub without knowing each of you are swingers. Its even more cool, people who do not know they are swingers end up swinging.Wonder what they call it?
