Original Starting post for this thread:
So we are the proud parents of a couple of kids (14 months). We haven't played since they were born and are looking to put our toes in the water again. The question...for all you parents out there...is how do you do it with kids?

We aren't into bringing another couple back to our apartment with the kids in another room (feels odd) and it also seems odd to get a babysitter for a night when we are out (plus we like to play late into the night and morning).

Anyone out there have any experience or thoughts?

We don't play w/ people who can't grasp that simple concept.

I wish all were as understanding as you two.

omg, is it ever! The first time he had one I thought there was a fracking snake or scorpion or something in his bed so while Jay was holding him screaming and thrashing I was disassembling his bed. Its horrifying. And then they just go to sleep, like nothing happened...leaving you there going omg I need a shot now.

My daughter is 8 and has them.
They are not every night or every week just once in a while.
I just want to make sure if and when she does it is with people she is very familiar with.
My 23yr old will have them a few times a year.
I had to tell her fiance about them when they moved in together.
Seeing a person screaming at the top of their lungs while sleep walking is a bit frightening if you have no clue what is going on.

My boys have never had any issues with this.

Yes, our youngest had them for awhile. They are terrifying and frustrating at the same time because you want to make the baby feel better and they are sort of in this sleep/wake state. None of our other 2 had them and he hasn't in some time, thank goodness.

night terrors are no fun, my older girl had them for a bit as a toddler. I was so glad when they stopped!

We are lucky mostly my mom keeps them for us, her and my dad are happy to have them a couple of times a month for an overnight if I can manage to get off from work. Really other then that during the school year they rarely get to see them. And at 5 and 7 they are easy to take care of for the most part.

Our daughter has night terrors.
She can stay with my Mom or her siblings.
I dont feel comfy with others watching her.

It is VERY nice to have older ones to babysit.
Trying to have everyones schedules mesh is difficult.
We are trying! lol

Same for us, sitters. We are lucky because our daughter is 16 and we pay her well...but in 2 years when she goes to College that luxury will be done.

That sounds like an excellent idea.
However that would not work with my daughter.
