TOPIC: Quantity of Certs

We are fairly new, we definitely understand that just because you have a cert does not mean you have played with them. Question is after years of racking up certs do you start to erase some or do you continue to rack them up? It seems to me that too many certs can be a turn off. So what do you guys do? Not care, erase, ignore?

User Details are only visible to members.	We only give or receive certs from people we would want to assciate our selves with. We also see that some people will have a 2min converstaion with someone at a meet and greet and certify them, we don't agree with that but to each there own.

This is a great topic, but I would appreciate more advice from couples about whether a male can have "too many" certs and if so, what is that number/frequency. I only accepted or kept a couple of recent certs under my old profile, but am thinking about accepting a new one every month or two and not culling them (one couple once had their feelings hurt when I deleted their cert after a few months and I had to explain). As for giving certs, I just went back and noticed that, of the eight certs I have issued in the last year that are still appended to profiles, most of them were either the first one the couple or lady had, or the first one they had in a long time. Couples who already have a few recent certs don't seem to want more, which is fine. But I think the rules-of-thumb might be different for single males. What say ye?

User Details are only visible to members.	a lot of sls members use certs in different ways. like pixie, we keep ours complementry without delving into who did what to whom and all that. as far as we concerned, our certs (we keep only two) are there for two reasons. 1. it allows people to know that we are a real couple, and not some asshole pretending to be a couple. 2. it gives people a chance to see the kind of people we are looking to spend time with and get to know. you just have to remember that some couples will have the same idea and want to use a cert from you to say to others, "check it out, we were with these guys. don't you want to be with us?" so we're very careful about who we cert as well, and try not to hurt anyone's feeling in the process.

User Details are only visible to members.	We are new, so we like having the certs to show we are legitimate and actually show up to meet people. I also do like seeing a couple for those we are considering contacting. I don't really care what the number is, but I like to see that if it's a couple, both the man and woman exist. If it's a single male, I like to know that he was respectful enough that a couple would give him a cert. I also like to use them as a way to determine if we are their type. I'll check out the profiles of who they've been with before, and see if we fall somewhere close to the same level as they do. Certs for us don't rule anyone out or in, but I do think they are somewhat useful and if we're between a couple profiles we'd probably pick the one with certs versus no certs.

It doesn't matter how few or how many certs someone has and, if they ask, we give out certs just for meeting someone - has nothing to do with sex. After getting just a few we stopped asking, it served its purpose for us. We won't turn anyone away with no certs, but we will only meet them out in conjunction with another event, house party, LS Club. We get so few nights out to play that we just want to be as sure as possible we're meeting real people.

User Details are only visible to members.	It doesn't matter to us if a profile has 2 certs or 200 hundred, but we won't go out of our way to meet anyone without certs. There are just far too many fakes on this site who won't lose a second of sleep if they waste your time. A lot of people in the lifestyle are very sociable and use the site for both social and sex and that's totally fine with us. It really depends on what the certs say. We don't kiss and tell, so when we write a cert, they are kept sexually vague and express only that we enjoyed our time with a couple. The certs we accept are written the same way, which is fine with us. Most of the people who have written us a cert we never played with as well as those we've written. No biggie.

User Details are only visible to members.	We don't accept nor do we give certs..they are not important to us.I see them as "notches" on the bedpost. If we meet someone from this site, their certs are not important, we decide whether we like them based on how WE feel, not how others feel about them.But, some people won't meet someone that is not "certified" as real.If we meet them, I figure they are "real". We haven't met fake people yet.But to each their own.

What we did was to get a few certs when we first started on sls to establish our bona fides and plan to add one or two every couple of months to show that we are still active and relevant. Somewhere down the road we will likely cull the herd and drop some certs but have not gotten to that point yet. In our profile we talk about 'real' certs which to us mean that the couple giving the cert has actually played with the couple they are certing. We find the 'we met so and so at a M & G and we had a nice chat' certs to be totally useless because going to a M & G in no way establishes whether a couple is actually active in the LS and that is what we are looking for certs to tell us.

User Details are only visible to members.	As a guarantee that an SLS member has met publicly with another SLS member the certifications have merit. Suggestions have been presented in SLS Website forum about ways to modify the certification meanings and symbol to make it more relevant to specific events, and to provide more than just approval comments. On our first profile we accepted and gave certifications but were told we could not save them and carry them over to our next profile. On our next profile we deleted a certificatione after a period of time because we begn to believe they were not meaningful. ~~ZZ~~

User Details are only visible to members.	when we moved to TX, we removed our VA certs b/c we wanted to be able to find friends here for mutual certification. We USUALLY certify people we've met, had fun with, sexy fun especially, BUT we've also certed and been certified by people we have become friends with and haven't yet done anything sexual with, or may not for whatever reason. We're honest with the certs, and we don't cert everyone. I think after a few years, then yes, I would delete some. Or sort of like face book, people you kind of know, but don't really have contact with...some people keep them on for the numbers, others only have "friends" that they're really friends with. We prefer the latter...friends with. Gina
