TOPIC: How Long is Too Long(and its not what your thinking)

You guys were great with our last post, here goes another. You make initial contact though e-mail on web site, exchange instant messenger screen names, chatted via IM, exchange phone numbers, chatted on phone(for hours), and set a date to meet. You all hit it off, on every medium so far (you sound really nice, cant wait to meet, you seem very real, blah blah blah,) I'm sure we have heard it all.... Then........... on the final day/hour you get that phone call, cant get a baby sitter, (them) i think we are rushing, we are not ready yet, and the list goes on. No biggie, life happens, we totally understand that. Then you try making contact again to set up another meet, you say hi on IM, and no response, send e-mail, no replies. We figure why call them at this point. The messed up part, is that they were the ones that we in a big rush to meet, not us. Our policy(that sounded so horrible)is this, we figure if there is some mutual level of interest, we like to have one sign of contact a week, if your so called interested(e-mail, hi in IM, phone call). We have more contact with couples that are too far away to meet or play, then the ones that are 20-30 mins away. After two week, we just remove them from out "buddies" lists, chuck out any contact info, and move on, we figure outta site, outta mind. So, any takers on this ?

User Details are only visible to members.	When I am contacted by anyone, I also have a 2 week rule of thumb. I have been victimized by aggressively rude wannabees who want to meet for a drink, find out what I do, ask all sorts of questions about the local scene, chat endlessly, then turn rude and hostile. If someone is serious about playing, they will usually want to do so within 2 weeks of a Meet and Greet.
