Sex is a powerful force for bonding and formation of attachments. Maybe not if it is a one-time thing, but if you repeatedly have sex with someone, there almost HAS TO BE an emotional attachment. Otherwise you'd go somewhere else for sex, or just masturbate.

Whenever we have found a couple we both liked enough that we kept seeing them and playing with them repeatedly, we naturally developed a genuine fondness for them. Note that "fondness" equates to love, in some form. It's not the same as being "in love", but it is a love, nonetheless.

The thing is that the world is full of people whom we find physically attractive, and who are great to have as friends, and whom we enjoy seeing often - - but not CONSTANTLY. Our time with them is treasured because it is so limited and NOT constant. But we couldn't stand to live with them day in and day out. That's whay separates "loving" someone from being "in love" with someone. Being "in love" requires much more of a relationship.

I think people try to fool themselves that they have no emotional involvement with swinging playmates. If they become your good friends and regular playmates too, then you have formed an emotional bond. It's just different from the "in love" kind of bond you have with your lifemate.

I always looked at it as Recreational Sex, Of course safe sex always use a condom, but looking at is as a sport you are just physically involved in.. Burn Those calories! Makes for great sex too! JoAnn
