Play if you want with someone you want to enjoy. Don't get "trapped" into saying "yes" to anyone when you really want to say "no." If asked by someone you don't want to be with, just say, "thanks, but no thanks" and don't say anything more! Don't give a reason. Just smile and move to another part of the room to start a conversation with someone else.

Typically, hosts will set up their home so that there is (i) a social room for everyone to mingle, and (ii) a few bedrooms for people who want to play. If after socializing you determine that there is no one there with whom you click, you can just stay in the social room without anyone thinking poorly of you.

all house parties are different but one constant, no always means no. YOu never have to do anything you are not comfortable in doing.
