Dear fellow seniors. We know of a neurologist who when asked by a couple (one of whom had Parkinson's) what they should do about sex going forward, replied "all you can handle! There seem to be mixed messages on PD and sex. On the one hand the disease is often said to diminish or kill the sex drive. On the other hand, Carbidopa/Levodopa meds can elevate Dopamine levels to the point where the individual might indulge in risky behaviors such as gambling and unrestrained sex. Anybody have any examples, thoughts or suggestions to add to this topic? We are most interested.
