I have had a full panel done every six months three times now. All negative. When I asked my gyno if herpes was included, the answer was NO. The reason? It is a blood test and is not recommended by the CDC as 60% of people tested would be positive. In other words, most people have it and don't know it.

You can certainly ask for it. I always do and have been negative for both HSV 1 & HSV 2 each time.

They are already drawing blood for the rest of your tests, you might as well have them check for it.
